Ask a guard about the missing dog in Falkreath
A guard near the entrance to Falkreath asks whether you have seen a dog and directs you to Lod, the town blacksmith. Speaking with Lod causes Barbas to appear on the road outside Falkreath.

Reach level 10
The quest becomes available once the player reaches level 10.

A unique enchanted battleaxe, but not a Daedric artifact.

The Masque of Clavicus Vile
