Speak with Avulstein Gray-Mane in House Gray-Mane
Avulstein Gray-Mane is found hiding inside House Gray-Mane in the city of Whiterun.
Speak with Idolaf Battle-Born in Whiterun
Idolaf Battle-Born is found in Whiterun, usually walking near the market area or inside the House of Clan Battle-Born.

Eorlund Gray-Mane is alive
Leveled enchanted steel weapon
Fralia Gray-Mane gives you the weapon after Thorald is rescued.

200 gold
Fralia Gray-Mane gives you this reward instead.
