Ways to Start
The quest can be started in two ways.
Inspect Meridia's Beacon after finding it in a boss chest
This item spawns randomly in one of the boss chests. Meridia speaks to you as soon as you pick up her Beacon, making this the most natural story introduction to the quest.
Activate the Statue of Meridia west of Solitude
If you've already discovered the shrine, activating the statue starts the quest immediately.
