Skyrim: The Pale Lady — Where to Start and Rewards
The Pale Lady can be started in two different ways. This guide shows where to begin and what rewards are available from each outcome.
Ways to Start
The quest begins near Frostmere Crypt after meeting Eisa Blackthorn or, if that encounter fails, by reading her journal.
Approach Frostmere Crypt and encounter Eisa Blackthorn.
Approach Frostmere Crypt from the western road. Eisa Blackthorn is attacked by former members of her bandit group outside the entrance. Speak with her after the encounter to learn about the stolen sword and begin the quest.
Read Eisa's Journal if the encounter does not trigger correctly.
If Eisa is standing outside Frostmere Crypt without the encounter starting, inspect her inventory in sneak mode and read Eisa's Journal to begin the quest. You do not need to steal the journal.
Rewards
Return the Pale Blade
Return the sword to its pedestal and leave peacefully.
No unique quest rewards.
Kill the Pale Lady
Defeat the Pale Lady instead of returning the sword to its pedestal.
The Pale Blade
A unique leveled Ancient Nord sword that deals frost damage and causes lower-level targets to flee.
